Start by setting a budget, then move on to sketching out layout options.

Sometimes you cannot see the forest for the trees. It is hard to think of everything when renovating. We know what needs attention, and we make sure every small detail adds up to an appealing whole, from the correct fall toward the drains to lighting and power outlets.

Green is having a moment right now. Many people want a bathroom they can genuinely unwind in. Natural materials bring harmony and sit well within the Scandinavian style. Considered solutions, for storage especially, make it possible to combine aesthetics with function.

We begin with a home visit, where we see the room and you tell us how you want it. When needed, a designer goes through the layout, materials and details with you, after which you receive a clear cost proposal. Once it is approved, we agree on a start date and a timeline. Unikum Bygg then takes responsibility for the entire job, from removing the old bathroom to the final inspection, and the renovation is documented so you have the records long after.

A bathroom calls for a licensed electrician, plumber, carpenter and tiler, and a waterproofing layer that is done correctly. At Unikum Bygg our own team carries out most of the work, holding the certifications required even for extensive bathroom renovations. When we bring in an outside partner, we hold them to the same standards of training and qualification as ourselves.

In a co-op apartment (bostadsrätt), usually yes. Under the Swedish Housing Cooperatives Act, the board's permission is required for work on load-bearing structures, changes to pipes for water, drainage, heating or gas, and other significant alterations, and a bathroom renovation often touches the pipework. Many associations also have their own rules for wet rooms. Bring the association's guidelines to the home visit, and Unikum Bygg will take them into account from the planning stage.

The ROT deduction is 30 percent of the labour cost, up to SEK 50,000 per person per year under the 2026 rules, within a combined ROT and RUT ceiling of SEK 75,000. It covers the work, not materials or travel, and is applied directly on the invoice. If you own the home together and share the cost, each of you can use your own allowance. The temporary increase to 50 percent applied only during 2025. Choose Unikum Bygg as a private individual and you can use the ROT deduction for your bathroom renovation.

Above all the bathroom's size and condition, whether pipes, drains and the floor drain need to move, and which materials and details you choose. Unikum Bygg provides a clear cost proposal after the home visit, before any work begins. Because we work closely with select suppliers, you can tailor your material choices while benefiting from favourable prices.

It depends on the scope, for example whether installations need to move and which materials are chosen, and in a co-op apartment also on when the association has given its approval. The quote from Unikum Bygg includes a timeline, and we hold to it from start to finish.

Choose Request a quote here on the site and tell us briefly about your project, ideally with a floor plan or a few photos, or call 073-985 01 42 or email info@unikumbygg.se. Unikum Bygg usually replies the same day. The next step is a home visit, after which you receive a clear cost proposal.
