The living room on Södermalm has been given a solid timber floor laid in chevron.
The floor is sanded in place and finished with hardwax oil, a surface that can be repaired rather than replaced.
The chevron is laid at an angle to the length of the room so that it opens the space up.
The project is an apartment renovation on Södermalm, carried out by Unikum Bygg in 2023. We renovate apartments as turnkey contracts with no middlemen, where plumbing, electrics and finishes are handled with the same precision in every room.
